The Website Design Process

Overview < The Design Process > The PC Advance Touch | Hosting

PC Advance breaks down the website design process into six distinct stages:

Stage 1: Client Discussion

  1. Client Discussion
A period spent talking to you about what you want your website to be like. You won't necessarily be expected to make conclusive decisions about the design, but your comments about the purpose of the website and the feeling that you want to be created will be invaluable in the design process, and based upon this an open-ended specification will be drawn up.
  2. Stage 2: Website Template Design

  3. Website Template Design
A single page (template) of your website will be created based upon our discussion. Just one page is produced so that changes can easily be made to the design prior to everything being completed. These first two stages may be somewhat blurred in order to fully understand what the site should reflect, and how this can be effectively achieved.
  4. Stage 3: Feedback and Alternations

  5. Feedback and Alternations
You will be asked to review the template design and to give your feedback. If there are aspects of your website you are unsure about, or have any questions about the design, you will be invited to ask us about them. Any requests you have made for alterations to the general design of the website will then be acted upon and checked once more with you.
  6. Stage 4: Data Insertion

  7. Data Insertion
Now that the design of your website is completed, you will be asked for the text and any specific images you want to put into your website. We will advise you on the best and easiest ways to provide this, advise you on the actual content and even proof-read it, adding suggestions should you desire. Your website will then be completed according to specification.
  8. Stage 5: Feedback and Alternations

  9. Feedback and Alternations
Your website will be put online for you to test. This is an opportunity for you to see how long the website will take to load, how it looks on different browsers, and to get other people's opinions on it. Any final alterations can be made at this stage. It is important that you raise any concerns you may have in this session, so that you, and equally importantly your clients, are happy with your website.
  10. Stage 6: Publishing

  11. Publishing
PC Advance will explain the whole process of purchasing web hosting and domain names, along with recommending affordable webhosting packages which will meet your needs. Then, the files for the website can either be transferred to you for you to upload yourself, or we can assist you with the process of getting your site online and marketing your website.
