Overview | The Design Process < The PC Advance Touch > Hosting
We've said it many times before, and we'll say it again. At PC Advance we place huge emphasis on creating the correct feeling with your website. This is achieved in part by absorbing a lot of information about your business in the consultation period and in part through your continuing feedback of our progress.
Why is this so important?
As long as it looks professional, then it doesn't matter does it? To reduce this to basics, I ask you to imagine visiting Alan Titchmarsh's website. You may expect to see light, welcoming colours, and a flowing, non-geometric style consistent with nature and his friendly, informal attitude. How would you react if you were greeted with a very dark background, a site construct based on hard-cornered squares, and a picture of something totally unrelated to gardening? Would you question whether you were on the correct website? Would you bother continuining to surf that site? Obviously this is an exaggerated situation, but on a lesser scale this is what can be seen on many websites all over the internet.
To use a different example, we recently designed a website for a local hypnotherapist. Careful attention was paid to an unassuming, unimposing and relaxing colour scheme. Your eye is drawn into the centre of the website, and very few geometric constructs are used. The use of objects based around circles portray a sense of inclusiveness. The site design is clean and simple, leaving little to be offensive to any potential client visiting this website. It is somewhat a safe environment, which is the basis of hypnotherapy sessions. Yet few other hypnotherapy websites on the Internet seem concerned with basic ideas like this, with website designers creating what they like, what they find easy to design, or simply using generic website templates, instead of understanding your business. This sort of neglect is what turns customers away, which is not what you expect to occur when you commission a professional to design your website.
We take pride in our work, and this starts with finding out about your business. Your feedback throughout the design process is vital to ensure we're on track and haven't misinterpreted anything. Our entire website design process is based around ensuring we portray your business values correctly in the website design. This is what we term "the PC Advance touch".
